Day 1: Arrival in Athens, you pick up your rental car and drive towards the center of Athens where you spend the night.
Day 2: This day you will stay in Athens, in the morning you start with a bike tour at Let’s meet in Athens to get a good picture of the city in a short time. In the afternoon you have time to visit for example the Acropolis and the Acropolis museum.
Day 3: Today you will leave towards the Peloponnese via the Corinth Canal. This canal connects Attika with the peninsula Peloponnese. You continue towards Nafplion, the former capital of Greece. This charming city has a lot of sights. You can climb the Palamidi castle where you have an amazing view over the city. You can also make a boat trip to bourtzi, the small island with a castle that you see on the other side
This fortress served in the 15th century to protect the city against pirates. Close to Nafplion is Epidavros, particularly known for the Asklipion, the ancient theater that dates back to the 4th century BC. Epidavros is easily accessible from Nafplion.
Day 4: Today you drive to the south to the beautiful Monemvasia, a fortified town hidden behind a rock. This city houses both nice terraces, souvenir shops and beautiful houses in the lower city as well as beautiful churches and cathedrals and an amazing view in the upper city.
For those who would like to visit a small Greek island as well, it is possible to catch the boat to Elafonissos from the harbor of
Vigklavia (just past Monemvasia). The crossing takes fifteen minutes and this little island really gives you the Greek island feeling. Elafonissos is particularly known for the breathtakingly beautiful Simos beach. You spend the night in Monemvasia.
Day 5: Today you will leave in a westerly direction to the coastal towns Kardamili and Stoupa. The old town of Kardamili is very worthwhile as well as the beautiful walks that you can make from this region. We recommend a trip through the Viros gorge. You spend the night in Stoupa.
Day 6: Today you make quite a few kilometers but there are plenty of nice places to stop along the way. We end today in the authentic mountain village of Vytina, but we make a stop at Olympia on the way, where the first Olympic Games were held almost 3,000 years ago. You will find the temple of Olympia and can visit the nearby museum. From Olympia you drive to Vytina where you will spend the night.
Day 7: Today the tour will take you to Kalavrita, a village in the mountains which is a popular winter sports resort in the winter. This village is surrounded by beautiful gorges and monasteries. There is also a cog railway from Kalavrita to coastal town Diakopto, one of the most beautiful train rides that you can make in Greece. You spend the night in Kalavrita.
Day 8: Today you will head back to the airport of Athens to hand in your rental car and check in for your journey back home.
