Near Athens, in the Saronic Gulf, you will find the island of Poros, about one hour away from the port of Piraeus when taking the fast boat. The island actually consists of two smaller islands, Sferia and Kalavria, which are connected with a bridge. Sferia is a volcanic island on which the capital city of Poros is built. Kalavria is a larger, beautiful green island where almost all the beaches are.
On the island, Dutchman Rik lives with his Greek wife Katerina, who was born and raised on Poros. Together they run a hotel and bistro and in addition they organize all sorts of activities on the island.

What does the day look like?
At 9 o’clock in the morning the flying dolphin departs from port of Piraeus towards Poros, where you arrive at a quarter past 10. In the port of Poros you will meet Katerina or her daughter Dora. She then takes you into the city for a walk, where you also visit the food market where you will shop for the workshop. Then you go to the bistro of Rik and Katerina where the cooking workshop takes place. Katerina is specialized in both traditional and modern Greek cuisine and has almost 10 years experience in giving cooking classes. Her daughter Dora has been helping out all those years and also knows all the tricks of the trade. During the workshop you will learn everything about Greek cuisine and traditional Greek dishes. In an informal setting you’ll learn how to prepare these delicious dishes yourself. Of course afterwards, you will enjoy your homemade dishes during lunch at the bistro. After lunch there is some time to enjoy the beautiful island, so do not forget to bring your swimsuit for a refreshing dive afterwards. At 5 pm the boat leaves for Piraeus again.
What is the cost?
